Privacy Policy
TL;DR: We collect ZERO browsing data, ZERO analytics, ZERO telemetry. The only personal data we have is your email address for payment processing (handled by Paddle). All captured content, settings, and credentials stay on YOUR device.
1. What Data We Collect
AICO collects only data you explicitly capture by clicking “Capture This Page” or starting a batch export. This includes:
- Page content (text, conversations, code blocks)
- Page URL, title, and timestamp
- Platform name (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini)
We do not collect browsing history, analytics, telemetry, personal information, or any data from pages you do not explicitly capture.
2. How Data Is Stored
- Captured content is stored locally in your browser using
chrome.storage.local. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly initiate a transfer. - Settings and credentials (API keys, OAuth tokens) are encrypted locally using AES-256-GCM via our SecureDB module (IndexedDB vault). They never leave your device.
- Email address is stored locally in your browser and sent to our license server (Cloudflare Worker) for subscription verification and usage tracking only.
- Usage counters (export counts per day) are tracked server-side for quota enforcement only — they are automatically deleted after 48 hours. No content or browsing data is included.
3. What We Do NOT Collect
To be absolutely clear, AICO does NOT collect:
- Browsing history or URLs you visit
- Analytics or usage telemetry
- Screen captures or screenshots
- Content from pages you don’t capture
- IP addresses (beyond standard HTTPS connections)
- Cookies or tracking pixels
- Any form of behavioral tracking
4. Payment Processing
Payments are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all payment information (credit cards, billing addresses) directly. We never see, store, or have access to your payment details. The only information we receive from Paddle is your email address and subscription status.
5. Data Transfer Destinations
When you choose to export captured content, it is sent directly from your browser to your chosen destination:
- Notion — Direct API calls from your browser to Notion’s servers using your OAuth token
- PostgreSQL / Knowledge Base API — Direct calls from your browser to your configured server
- File downloads — Saved directly to your local device
Our servers are never involved in these transfers. Your content goes directly from your browser to your chosen destination.
6. Third-Party Services
- Paddle — Payment processing and subscription management
- Cloudflare Workers — License verification and usage quota tracking (email + daily count only)
- Chrome Web Store — Extension distribution
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, Mixpanel, or any other analytics/tracking service.
7. Data Deletion
Since all captured data is stored locally in your browser, you can delete it at any time by:
- Clearing extension data in Chrome settings
- Uninstalling the extension (removes all local data)
- Using the “Clear History” option within AICO
To delete your email from our license server, contact us at the email below and we will remove it within 48 hours.
8. Children’s Privacy
AICO is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
